Tap Into Your Inner Wealth
Like many people, I have issues around money. I call them money baggage — those limiting thoughts, beliefs and emotions around my finances
. What about you? What feelings do you associate with money? Do thoughts of money make you feel anxious, angry, unworthy or confident and relaxed ? What’s your money self-talk like? Do you think about abundance and achievement or lack and limitation?
I decided to clear out my baggage and increase the abundance in my life. I needed support to build a new financial fitness routine. I know about the Laws of Attraction, the importance of affirmations and declarations, and the benefits of positive thinking. I wanted an improved relationship with money. I needed personal development tools and exercises to clear my resistance and anchor my wealth building intentions. I sought to rewire my emotional circuitry, to take myself off automatic pilot and kick my energy up a notch or two.
No More Stinkin’ Thinking
My goal was to get past the money junk that had accumulated in my life. I didn’t want to analyze it. I wanted to clear it out, along with any stinkin’ thinking that had seeped into my consciousness to rob me of health, happiness and personal power. My goal was to attract more good in my life. More good people and great experiences.
I spent January 2009 letting go of emotions I no longer want. And adopting new financial attitudes and behaviors that would serve me well as I reach new levels of financial comfort. It was a highly spiritual quest, and I was aptly aided by superstars in the prosperity arena.
According to Joan Sotkin of Pro$perityPlace.com, “financial issues are always related to non-financial emotional issues …” Joan reminded me that prosperity comes through other people. I heard her and ended my self-imposed isolation. I’ve made new friends and associates, and reconnected with a few great old friends. I’ve entered into joint ventures with two awesome groups whose energy and expertise complement my own in amazing ways.
Tap Into EFT
I began tapping to clear my fears of the big steps I’m taking. Tapping? Yes. EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques) are tools to help remove emotional blocks that prevent you from achieving your goals. EFT is a needle-free form of acupuncture. By tapping on certain meridian points while concentrating on the emotional disturbance, energy begins to flow and relief results. EFT is easy to learn, and does not require special education or extensive training. It can be used effectively in almost every emotional, health and performance issue. Pioneered by Gary Craig, EFT‘s benefits are huge. It works. Many people are tapping and talking glowingly about it.
Paul Zelizer, a new Twitter and Facebook friend, is a genius at bringing people together. Paul says “EFT is among the best clearing tools available today.” Get Paul’s free ebook, PZ’s Money Makeover2. It explains how to use EFT for financial well-being.
I’m refreshed and vibrating at a higher energy level. I’m ready to implement my new 2009 action plans. I’m feeling more hopeful and much less stressed. I tap frequently and journal my feelings.
What about you? Have you heard of EFT? Have you tried it yet? What were your experiences? Share your thoughts about it here. More tools and exercises coming soon.

I need to learn more about EFT. Good for you trying to change your outlook!

Judith: Your post reminds me that success is an ongoing process, not an arrival point. It's heartening to hear that someone like yourself, who's got it all together, needs to hit the refresh button every once and a while to clear out the gunk and get back to clarity of purpose and the actions to support it.
EFT sounds fascinating. Thanks for the links to explore that a little deeper. I'm looking forward to hearing about other tools that can help my prosperity mindset.
Thanks,
Phyllis

Hi Judith,
I really enjoyed your post. I was introduced to EFT about a year ago. We used it on my son for a medical condition and had great results. With life being so busy I put it on the back burner for myself. Thanks for the nudge to revisit EFT again! I know it can be a wonderful tool for blocked emotions etc. Look forward to more of your posts. I am following you on Twitter as well. Gotto LOVE Twitter!

Hi Phyllis,
How kind you are! Thanks for the sweet words.
As you know, no one has it all together all the time. As we move to new levels of accomplishment, there is resistance designed to protect us, to keep us in our safe place. We have to break through that protective barrier to move forward. It's the only way to reach bigger and better.
It is scary and exciting! EFT helps. Try it. You'll like its effect. And it so helps to have great friends like you along for the ride. Thank you.

EFT is one of my favourite tools – wonderful for clearing blocks of any kind and to get rid of phobias

Hi Judith,
Thank you for this post—I, too, find that I have so many limiting beliefs about money. Money baggage—what a perfect term. I think I have a whole set of money baggage–family stuff, gender stuff, all that. And you're right about EFT—it's the best thing I've found for clearing these limits and fears I have in place. Also, it can be used strategically, once the clearing is done, to really lock in the new neural pathways—opening us up for real. It is so refreshing to see a financial expert like you to really understand how powerful EFT is. I'm biased–I'm a practitioner–I love seeing people in other areas start to see its power!
Thanks again,
Lynne

Hi Judith,
Yes, I'm familiar with EFT and tried using it for a while but got side-tracked/distracted by various things going on in my life at the time. You've reminded me to revisit it. I did try downloading the book you recommended but there are no active links on his page.

Hi Char,
I noticed that Paul Zelizer's site has a few new enhancements today. Perhaps he was upgrading when you clicked.
I just visited and the site is up and running. Please try again at http://www.moneymake2.com/. Paul added more audio on his site. I've found it helpful to listen to sessions and tap as part of a group. It's called "Borrowing Benefits."
The link to the Free Start-up Kit (his money-related ebook) is at the bottom of the page. Let me know if it benefits you. Hope so.

Thank you, Lynne. I love your site! Very peaceful and easy to read. I did get to Paul's site and downloaded the book (printing it as I type) which I'll read today during lunch at work.
I have to tell you, though, the name of your site brought me up short (in a good way). You see, I've been thinking about teaching for over 2 years and the test I have to take to get started teaching–at least for highschool in Delaware–is called the Praxis I. If I took that, and passed it, I could work towards a teaching certification by actually working in a school for 1-2 years and then I could take the Praxis II which would then give me Delaware certification.
I'm also going, on Wednesday, to apply as an adjunct professor at two of our community colleges. I'm scared to death but life seems to be pointing me in that direction and it's something I believe I'll not only be good at but will enjoy doing.
I know the above is a bit off-topic but I can't get by the "sign" your site name is sending.
Thanks again,
Char

Hi Char,
I love the synchronicity that is showing up here! Let me know if I can be of help in your journey in any other ways. Congrats, too, on your resolve to go into teaching–such important, wonderful work!
Best to you,
Lynne
